Don SalsaKoolaide Moustache in Jonestown

Don SalsaThis is the first project to come to fruition from the minds of Tim and Douglas Smolens, Jason Schimmel and Jeff Attridge.  This album from Don Salsa and His Surprisingly Bloated Armada of Discharged Ninja Custodians entitled, Koolaide Moustache in Jonestown, was an attempt to make the most extreme musical statement possible, and by all accounts it was an amazing success.  Although few people have ever heard this record, those who have will testify that it is with out a doubt, the most extreme record ever made.  This fact is evidenced by the first song, which lasts 33 minutes and never repeats.

I.S.S.Forget About the Girl

ISSShort for ‘Ideal Social Situation’, this record was made in the golden years of the guys Santa Cruz era.  This was a fertile time when Estradasphere was starting to take off, el douje was mastering the art of flamenco guitar, and Tim Smolens was becoming obsessed with the Beach Boys.  This record, written almost entirely by Tim was an homage to Brian Wilson and the innocent Boy Band era of the past.   It combined everybody’s diverse musical strength into one of the greatest records ever made that nobody ever heard of.   The record, Forget About the Girl Features unforgettable performances by Tim Smolens, Joel Robinow, George Smith, Joey Ryken, Douglas Smolens and John Whooley to name a few.

Foxycock Black Music for White People

Black Music for White PeopleAbout the same time the ‘el douje’ album was being finished and Fishtank Ensemble was being born, a strange and rare twist of destiny caused the emergence of an unlikely apocalyptic comedy rock band, Foxycock.

Both juvenile and sophisticated, inspiring and offending, the New York Times says, “Foxycock answers the ultimate question of life.” Taking on such timely and controversial subjects as trans-racial eroticism, 9/11 nostalgia, 80s music obsession, internet porn addiction, gay children's songs and reptilian/ humanoid government leaders, Foxycock's music is sure to provoke, entertain and/or offend you.

Fishtank EnsembleSuper Raoul

Super RaoulA chance series of events led to the formation of the underground gypsy super group Fishtank Ensemble.  Originally the band was made up of Fabrice Martinez, Ursula Knudson, Kevin Kmetz, Doug and Tim Smolens and Aaron Seeman.

Their first album, recorded after only 3 weeks together is a “Gypsy flamenco frenzy!” A blend of up-tempo traditional and original music — Romanian, Roma, klezmer, flamenco and Japanese — with a contemporary twist.  This 7-piece orchestra with vocals, 2 violins, saw, accordion, shamisen, flamenco and gypsy jazz guitar, double base and percussion is a unique musical experience--and a rollicking good time!

Fishtank Ensemble Samurai Over Serbia

"This is the last thing you want to have playing if you’re trying to fall asleep. It’s pure adrenaline: there hasn’t been anything this viscerally exciting playing around here since Ivo Papasov’s latest CD. "
